Dad looked down the hall and said to Mom and me, “Well, there’s ‘Dead Ready’. I haven’t seen him in decades.”
Mom whispered, “What’s his real name? I can’t call him that.”
Dad said, “Well, …… I don’t know.”
‘Dead Ready’ continued down the hall, and he and Dad talked. Eventually, he told my mom his full name. I don’t remember it. But (like my Dad), I guess that wasn’t important.
