I stayed home from school a lot as a kid/teen and through daytime MMM I discovered his work, first through Cry Baby and then whatever I could get my hands on at the second hand movie store.
His movies rule. Especially his earlier stuff like Multiple Maniacs and Pink Flamingos that feels unlike anything that was coming out at the time.
