      These fake non-enforceable speed limit signs never seem to be a multiple of 5. I wonder if there’s some law where only real ones can be.

    3. HOAs put them up to slow people down, your more likely to remember this specific number of the common 15mph or 20mph.

      It’s not even a valid speed sign. I always blow past these and ignore them have yet to see someone complain but I’d love to smirk on their face and tell them I don’t see a speed sign, just a lazy excuse for a speed bump

      There’s parking garages around my work that are 16, 9, and 7.5. While not enforceable by police, you better believe they find ways to enforce them via work. Revoking parking access and termination are both things I’ve seen.

    6. It’s doing it’s job … if the sign read 15mph nobody would bat an eye. By using 14mph it stands out and gets noticed by drivers
