Looking at this video, Amanda Bearse might have been the best actor on the show. She actually looked like she was into what she was saying.
If you know anything about her then you understand what it took to get thru that scene.

I know the show hasn’t aged well. But there are moments especially in the earlier seasons (1-5) that are etched in my brain forever and I still laugh at them. I believe in this episode there is a scene where Kelly is inspecting Al’s mouth, and she notes that she has to move one tooth over to see the one behind it, and another tooth is fizzing. Then, later, Al is enters the dentist’s room holding a balloon and a stuffed duck, like a child. The dentist starts looking in his mouth and immediately gasps like he just saw a dead body.
Long live Al Bundy.
