But… don’t you typically bring a date to a gala? Not find one there?

    2. There’s actually a gala/fundraiser happening this weekend where i live and the tickets start at like $500. No thanks

*Me when I get told about college parties after the fact and have never been asked to attend with a friend*

    4. The callout is brutal but fair. Galas still exist, you’re just not on the list lmao.

People want the Bridgerton aesthetic, but they completely forget it comes with the “dying of a minor tooth infection at age 24” reality

This is a ball, not a gala.

      Gala – fundraising, asskissing, looksmaxxing

Ball – dancing with super cool clothing

Honestly, getting ghosted on a dating app in sweatpants from the comfort of my own bed is way better than paying for a carriage ride just to get publicly ignored by a guy in a powdered wig

    8. Both are terrible but at least on dating apps you don’t have to rent a tuxedo you can’t afford.

I bet you have a local ballroom scene – it’s halfway to this, and they’d love to have you.

      Man screw that idea.

Imagine spending a ridiculous amount of effort to get ready for a gala and then receiving a message saying she’s going to cancel on your ~~date~~ gala because her last gala is going well…
