The problem is that Skynet and the Matrix are big fans of Idiocracy. So if we’re put in pods, we’re going to relieve this timeline for laughs.
If we end up in Terminator territory, the robots are gonna be yelling memes, quoting television/movie lines, and possibly Rick rolling us as they hunt us down.

What an optimistic take. We’re pretty deep into Idiocracy. AI isn’t there yet. Virtual Reality isn’t there yet. Augmentations and Androids aren’t there yet. Idiocracy is starting to lose it’s potency as satire because it’s too close to reality.
