This is my grandfather, Robert McCann, in 1930. He was in his early twenties, with two children under the age of two. To support his young family, he became a bootlegger. He was handling the distribution end of things. He went back to honest work at the end of prohibition. I have no memory of him – he passed away when I was 2 years old.
