    1. That’s the 1942 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. See attached film of it’s release. Of course, the 1942 models were released in the fall of 1941, but by mid December 1941, all auto production stopped. It wasn’t until 1948 that GM released newly designed models. This 1947 model was made in 1947, using the stamps that existed pre-war.

    2. Did she take a fall? I remember seeing a lot of pre- and post-war cars from my youth, but I never saw an Oldsmobile with that weird grille. Grills were the distinctive feature between a lot of cars, especially those of the GM ilk. The first time I remember seeing one like this was in a movie not so long ago, and I had to look it up… “what the heck is that car?”

Must not have been popular in my neck of the woods, or maybe they died young.

“Smart” is not a bad headline, and the fallen girl is attractive. The top of the ad is kind of weak, though, a smallish head and blob of copy. Do they run copy at the top very often? Maybe it’s daring!
