Almost lost my leg in a farming accident. Here’s the implants that held my knee together for over a year.

Question: how did you approach getting a hold of this without it being weird?

My daughter has hip dysplasia and has a metal bracket holding her leg together. I wasn’t certain if it’s macabre to hold on to it.

Never thought to frame my hardware. That would be a nifty conversation starter to keep on my desk.

That is one helluva memento to look at every day. Wish you a speedy post-extraction recovery.

I know very little about farming, and that’s enough knowledge to know better than to ask for details for ANY farming accident.

    5. So you’re saying those implants were there for you in your… time of kneed?

Were they just temporary to hold things together while it healed?

My understanding is that usually they don’t pull the hardware out unless there’s complications – I’ve got some screws in my ankle, and they’ll stay there forever
