That’s a lot of professions. I’m an aerospace engineer and the amount of enthusiasm amateur aerospace fans have for planes far outpaces mine. By a lot.

This is entirely dependent on who teaches it. If you have a shit teacher, you’ll hate the subject. If you have an awesome teacher, you’ll love it. History in my experience is one or the other. You either have the most boring lectures imaginable, or the most enthusiastic, awesome teacher ever.

History text books through secondary school in the US at least are always devoid of cool details that make the people or events interesting. All flat characters and stories. After college I learned there were other kinds of history books that were fascinating.
