I’m glad the shithole that is GameStop is going down hill.

I remember the smell from the ps3 midnight release line. Like a sweatier version of a Spirit Halloween store.

Yeah I miss going finding a game I didn’t know I need then finding something else that I needed that I didn’t know I needed, like a stuffed animal or figurine

You realize GameStop as a company is still alive and doing well? You can still do this…and people still do

If you want to stay in line then go to Lego stores on the day of new sets arriving. Seems similar enough.

I remember the release night for Cod Black Ops (the first one). The store was in a mall so the mall was open for the midnight release. There was a dj, food and drinks. What a great memory.

I got to agree but GameStop can go fuck it’s self because the company sucks ass and is the embodiment of corporate greed

I definitely miss browsing the shelves for used console games when I traded in a stack and was trying to figure out what was next. The whole brick and mortar experience was great with games, met so many people in my local gamestop over time. Not to mention the midnight releases.

Midnight releases sure were something special. Really cool and unique atmosphere every time.

You forgot where you’re yawning because how boring shopping is online. Like, at least standing in line, you could share stories with fellow shoppers.

Nothing hits like physically leaving the store with your whole weekend in a plastic bag.

I miss my local GameStop. When my Xbox 360 died in 2018 (it was a day one console) they gave me a new Day One 360 for like 20$ (50$ original price but 30 off due to trade in) it was refurbished too and the red ring issue was fixed, still have it today.

Nothing beat the hype of a midnight release and finally holding that physical case in your hands on the car ride home
