In 1940s america Pineapple, avocado and mango were considered exotic. Durian didn’t appear in the US until the late 60’s when south east asian immigration started, and didn’t appear in stores until the 80s.

I thought this was a fake, but it appears on [this webpage](https://www.fulltable.com/VTS/a/aa/six/a.htm) and the oldest snapshot on the Wayback Machine is from 2010. It’s part of a whole series.

Dragon fruit, Custard Apple, have the sweet white flesh too and weird outer skin. Never heard of Durian.
