    3. Then my ancestors learned how to grow it en masse just south of frigid Lake Superior in swampy forests and sandy lakeshore plains, but hardly anyone is aware of this because plagues and colonialism and stuff.

    4. Corn was grown all over north, central and south America though. Up in what is now Ontario and Quebec they grew corn along with beans and squash.
