I have considered buying one in the past, but the kitchen in my studio is actually so small that even one of these is impractical. I really need to move.

This is perfect for so many people I’m surprised they’re not more common.  #1 Use: to have a safe/secure place to lay your dishes out to dry after you’re done hand-washing them.

I’ve got a full size dishwasher that’s on wheels. Hooks up to my sink and is essentially an extra movable counter top the rest of the time. Kitchen is too small to get rid of a cabinet but we could roll this extra unit around and use the extra counter top space for prep. Works just as well as any other dishwasher I’ve used. Saved my marriage as well as we both hate hand washing any more dishes than necessary (non-DW safe items only now).

I have the exact same model! Got tired of washing silverware and cups so often. Increased my quality of living by 1

Is it stationary, or can you move it? I have a “countertop” dishwasher that has a reservoir, and in theory could be set up almost anywhere. It’s a bit bigger than yours and has been a lifesaver

    6. I have one that’s like this, it’s great, i have a tiny galley kitchen in a 1938 bungalow house and i live alone so it’s just the right size to do my dishes and not take up too much room

    7. I have a different model and I really like it. The dishes are always cleaner, the silverware is cleaner, it uses less water than hand washing and it’s perfect for someone living alone or with one other person.

I especially love that mine has a fruit and vegetable mode that washes your produce.

We have one. I plumbed it into our hot water line and it sits under our kitchen sink – would never even know it was there. It’s a godsend for just the two of us, makes doing dishes so much easier when all the piddly stuff is being done automatically while I wash the bigger/ sensitive stuff.

    9. We got one of these because our rental house had no dishwasher and I could never keep up with the dishes handwashing. It’s so nice. Ours hooks up to the sink which is a little inconvenient since you can’t use the sink while it’s running, but you can just pair the cycle and disconnect it if you need to, then start it again when you’re done. Obviously it can’t wash everything but it turns my dish time from an hour or more to about 20min.

I have one sitting in my kitchen. Same exact model (Rebranded under iHome, Farberware, etc)

Sometimes that’s all you can do in NYC if you don’t feel like handwashing.

    11. I’ve actually looked into buying something like this, rather than doing a full load every few days a load every day would be nice.

    12. These are called countertop dishwashers

You can put them in cupboards but they don’t have as strong of a pump in them so they can’t pump the waste upwards as far as a regular dishwasher, typically between 10cm and 50cm upwards

Hmm, I wonder what’s better for a single person: a small countertop dishwasher that needs to be run frequently or a bigger one that can be run every few days 🤔
