Christians actually believing in their messiah’s message of peace Challenge Level 100 (Impossible)

    3. You do realize the First Crusade was started because the Turks were invading Byzantine right?

    4. Isaiah 48:22 – „There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked”

    5. Probably because these kinds of christians who’ll quote the Old Testament, but if you point that out they get mad and tell you to follow the teachings of Christ.

All successful religions have engaged in warfare at some point.

Same with countries. Including officially atheist countries.

And any social animal or insect.

Almost like anything alive is resource constrained and has to compete for survival.

    7. Holy war (regarding the Middle East crusades) was the pope’s way of exerting influence on armies and getting troublemakers out of Europe.

When people caught on to that (especially after a king got Jerusalem back, but the pope still excommunicated him) crusades stopped being so popular (no one wants to be a pawn in political games).

Then they found other crusades to have fun🥴 (against Ottomans, in Prussia etc).

Right, because medieval people defending pilgrimage routes and territories after centuries of expansion by neighboring empires that burned holy sites, killed Christians, and raped nuns is obviously best summarized as “wow holy war is cool”

    9. When you actually read Jesus’ teachings, you realize really quick just how far Christianity strayed from them. Be kind to foreigners. Don’t look down on people. Pay your taxes. Greed is pure evil. God WILL call out hypocrisy. Try your best to be a good person.

      Tired af of this take

Read the gospels, Jesus was not a nice guy and did not want peace, he was an insane cult leader and thats all there is to it

Do you not actually know history? Jesus was killed by Jewish People and The Roman Empire. Then they killed everybody that knew anything about Jesus. And then, centuries later, they decided to pretend to believe in him to get their way. If you would tell the truth about Jesus; the AntiChristian religion in his name would fall apart in seconds. Why would anyone trust a murderer to tell the truth about their victim? Especially long after everyone that knew anything was gone; and “heresies” were enough to lose your life? Look up Gnosticism, and stop being Satan’s fool.

    12. The Crusades are peak Christian aesthetic but are an insane failure of Christian ideal. The armor is cool as fuck, but shit were they dumb.

Idk, taking back what conquered from you sounds pretty okay.

Not like they went out to take mecca

Mohammed the moment he woke up from his prophetic stupor : “I don’t know where I am, but all I know is that I must kill”

Your meme ignores two millennia of charity. Yes, Christians did some horrible stuff in name of their beliefs. But all those orphanages, hospitals and soup kitchens didn’t build themselves either.

If they really want to act violently for Jesus he had a well documented dislike of moneylenders, so they should be attacking any even mildly predatory loan institutions

This will never ever happen. Even the most inclusive and accepting community will hate other people for their beliefs or opinions.

As a Christian it baffles me how throughout history and even today people use his message to do deplorable things

    19. It’s less his follower misunderstanding him and more his and god’s representatives mischaracterising him to get the people to do what they want. To be fair, they made the whole religion for control. So it’s less of a bug and more feature.

Also politics, sorry, but I hate the Democrats. Just as much as the Republicans, the whole system needs to come down. That’s exactly what jesus stood for it blows my mind.No one else can comprehend this.

    21. Pagan Rome became Papal Rome.

Christians were persecuted and killed now accepted.
(Christians are still persecuted in different places across the world)

      *Christians casually existing*

Muhammad (yes, the one who got beat up by Lucifer and tried to get the early church council on his side but then got called a heretic): *enters the chat and begins the plague of forced conversion, slavery Part 2, harem wars and more different wars*

Christians, after millions of them die: *Retaliate*

The World: “Why is Christianity so violent?”

Kinda ironic that the same empire that crucified Jesus turned around and made Christianity the state religion.
Doubt Jesus would approve of that.
