Cursed because she will never orgasm like this ever again. Poor thing..
      French people!!

    2. Wow this is actually so fascinating. I imagine it would’ve taken a lot of courage to release into the world at 1859. I’ve never seen a classical painting this explicit.

      O virgins, O demons, O monsters, O martyrs,
      Great scornful spirits of reality,
Seekers of the infinite, devout and satyrs,
Sometimes full of cries, sometimes full of tears,

You whom my soul has pursued in your hell,
Poor sisters, I love you as much as I pity you,
For your gloomy sorrows, your unquenchable thirsts,
And the urns of love with which your great hearts are filled!

      Charles Baudelaire, 1857

How many people saw this and said “Oh, damn”?
      Cursed Woman indeed.

I believe the direct translation of the French name of this painting is ” Damned Woman”. Or “DAYUM! Woman.”

      I prefer the latter.

    6. Its such shallow thinking for not a single comment to be able to explain why it would be titled The Cursed Woman.
