General Southeastern European is an average of Albanian, Serbian, Greek, and Anatolian Greek populations, and is attributed to Christian slaves whose exact origin is unknown.
The G25 genetic data of the sultans was simulated based on the genetic origins listed on Wikipedia, and then it was compared to modern populations.

Is Circassian under the “general southeastern european”? I thought a lot of Sultans had Circassian background through their mothers.

There was no such thing as Ukraine back then. You want to say Polish Lithuanian or Russian. Most likely they were Polish as many women were taken from Poland during those times.

Didn’t Sultan Suleiman had partial Crimean Tatar heritage from his mother’s side who was the daughter of Meñli I Giray, one of the many Khans of the Crimean Khanate?
