For a man who talked a lot about peace in his songs, dude sure had a questionable personal life

    1. He didn’t deserve to die, especially the way that he did, but he was not a good man.

Edit: There are many accounts of him doing very bad things. If John Lennon were alive today, he would’ve been “cancelled”. He still didn’t deserve to die of course

I mean, I dislike John Lennon, though this is out of context. John Lennon was an abusive violent man early in his life, he admits as much. Additionally most records indicate he only hit Cynthia Powel once, though he had assaulted other people in his youth. YET, his whole peace schtick came as he tried to change who he was and become a better person. Whether you agree that he became a better person is a different story, though its inaccurate to flatten people’s whole life and treat them as static.

The only reason we know Lennon was a bad husband/father was because he admitted it himself when he went hippy and tried to change for the better.

the shitty thing is people always act like he was simultaneously hitting people and singing imagine, as if that wasn’t anachronistic

    5. I always picture the misspelling of Yeah as yea to be some sort of biblical proclamation. This is particularly bizarre.
