    1. All part of the decades long conservative project to starve public goods of funding and then blame the systems (health, education, etc.) when they fail, which will then use as an excuse for further cuts.

    2. Once taxes no longer cover essential public services they can justify privatizing them, skyrocketing costs and pushing profits straight into their own pockets.

So is the State planning on Funding all infrastructure projects from their own funds? I can’t wait to see where this goes.

Let me guess Sponsored by Rich land owners. Lol.

No income tax, no property tax. Just fees and tolls and commercial real estate taxes, all of which get concentrated on the consumers.

It’s how you create the landed aristocracy Jefferson Davis dreamt of.

    5. Old people will pay none of the taxes and get all the benefits. And then they won’t even let young people own a house.

Holy shit, the actual bill is crazy. It’s going to cause an instant $14.8 billion fiscal hole and it says funding for all law enforcement in the stste must stay at the same level even if the cities and counties can’t afford it.

They are fast tracking it to tout before the midterms. Then the huge defecits will force billions in essential service cuts while growing a literal police state.

    7. This bullshit doesn’t deserve this attention. Obviously this would happen. I’m tired of being surprised by the obvious cruelty of them. About ready to declare republicans as a different species. Inhuman almost. They’re the rat that hits the pleasure button instead of food until it starves

    8. Make sure you pay your company ran fire department or they will let your house burn and the company will pay you pennies on the dollar for your lot.

Why do these people never make the connection between tax cuts and the national debt that’s so vital when Democrats are in charge? I’ve been asking this question for forty years and I never get an answer. Republicans always claim the tax cuts will be revenue neutral because they’ll spur productivity leading to increased tax revenue and it never happens. We get a bigger deficit and a bigger debt and Republicans pretend to be surprised.

So that means California and New York have to subsidize a socialist state like Florida even more?!

    11. This will fail badly, unfortunately it will be years from now so it will become a political issue/point when things are going bad. Hope all of those Floridians are ready for what’s next?

    12. That is insane. Only helps the extremely wealthy. Helps those who were lucky to buy 30 years ago when liberal.politics made wages and housing commensurate….this again puts the financial burden of the state on the bottom 80%

Anyone who lives in Ohio knows Republicans are chomping at the bit to do the same thing. They could *probably* override DeWine’s opposition to it but at this point they might be waiting for (*retches*) Governor Ramaswarmy to come in and do it for them.

Say hello to ~20% sales tax as renters get fucked over again.

    14. It’s for the future corporations and banks to pay no taxes, after the dwindling boomers pass on.

    15. So Florida didn’t have an income, and now doesn’t have property taxes? Policy preferences aside, how is the state funding itself?

    16. Ohio might do this by voter initiative and Vivek (the likely next governor) wants to eliminate income taxes.

It’s going to be very Mississippi in Ohio soon.

    17. What happens when their property values plummet because there’s no school system or other infrastructure?

    18. No income tax. No capital gains tax. No property tax.

Reliant on federal money after every hurricane

Here’s an idea. No taxes for anybody.

      Elect me.

Sad how many people are too stupid tobunder why it’s bad

    20. Live in Florida and:

      – buy food?

      – fill up gas?

      – use electricity?

      – have car, and/or home, or renters insurance?

      – pay rent?

      – lease a car, a warehouse, an office, a storage place?

      – buy clothing and shoes?

      – go to McDonald’s or any other restaurant?

      – get a haircut, mani & pedi?

      – buy stuff for school for your kids or yourself?

      – need a license, permit, or any other annual license?

      – buy any fucking thing or service not listed above?

Well, get ready to pay more, cause those big corporations paying real estate taxes for the homes they rent, are not paying anymore. So you got to put your little boy and little girls pants on, and pay for them.

Welcome to Florida, where the motto is “fuck you piece of shit, you’re not rich enough for us to give a fuck”

So they are going to starve education and local government services.

      Exactly what Florida needs.

    22. In Hillsborough county, the school district (7th largest one in the nation) is currently running a millage to pay their teachers and staff more money because they are severely under paid compared to the neighboring districts.

Guess they don’t get that anymore!

    23. Florida already had a homestead exemption. This doesn’t change much for the average person. Only those wealthy enough to own multiple residences will be impacted, which is exactly what the wealthy want.

Great winning strategy for the next election! Pretty much sinking the state of Florida way faster than sea level rise, though.
