It averaged something like 17 knots. So it likely got up a fair bit higher. As they went from near 0 to exceeding design specs and then back down to really slow in 3.5hrs covering something like ~58-60 miles. So they probably hit something like 19-20 knots.

I’m not much of a Star Trek fan, but since when have Starfleet Ships (or at least these large more exploration type ships) been as maneuverable as fighter craft?
This just looks kinda bad if I’m being honest

The book *The Other Side of the Night* does a good job telling the story from the Carpathia’s side.
