This would have almost immediately resulted in the swift downfall of any other president. But with Trump it barely gets a quick blurb on the evening news as just ‘part of his conference’.

    1. I get his confusion. They look the other way after seeing evidence that he raped children but tariffs are a bridge too far?

    2. The media is owned by billionaires who like Trump. They like his policies that enrich them, they like his entertainment value that gets clicks. They like Trump and trumpism. They are purposefully not covering him objectively because their goal is to make more money.

    3. It would be great if the media said screw it and pushed back..I know it would end their career but MAYBE there is one person who could speak up…

I don’t want to hear shit around here when the tables turn. If someone wants tot take shit on the resolute desk , all we can do is clap.

Exactly, the fact that the media isn’t screaming “SCOTUS has ruled that you can’t do that”. Literally any other president did this, it would be all over the media and the Republican Congress would not have it.

    6. I don’t like this one. What he’s saying is heinous but it *is* being taken out of context and twisted. If you listen to this speech he’s saying that he can do whatever he wants to other countries and finds it ridiculous that putting tariffs on them is something he *can’t* do.

To be clear, it’s all just one dumb meltdown, but the way they’re cutting the sentence apart makes it sound like he’s talking about destroying the US.

    7. John Stewart still can’t shut up about Bidens age. None of the media is on the side of good (especially trash like fox)

    8. I HATE trump but posting this with no context is the kind of misleading bullshit republicans do. Trump was talking about having the ability to embargo or destroy some OTHER country, he very clearly did NOT mean the United States.

He says enough unhinged dishonest shit every day that gets a fucking pass, we don’t need to emulate him.

    9. I have started wondering if it is embarrassment that has media not reporting these things. It’s essentially telling the world that this country that has touted its supremacy for so long is actually a dumpster fire now, who would look at this country with any admiration now. Additionally many of them have sugar coated and sane washed his idiocy for so long that to admit it now makes the news agencies look exactly how they have been behaving, absolute failures in their responsibilities and unreliable. These news agencies need to suck up their pride, accept the shame and just start being honest and truthful reporters of the truth. Yes it doesn’t help that most of the news agencies are owned and operated by Trump supporters.

This is the plan. Muzzle blast everyone everywhere with one horror after another to desensitize and force our complacency and despair.

We have to keep our anger focused and undistracted by these slight of hands straight out of their fascist playbooks.

    11. I can’t stand Trump and my opinion of other Americans has plummeted seeing him elected again. For this video it is clear he is talking about the supreme court ruling. Stating that he doesn’t understand emergency powers act let’s him do a lot of things that would destroy trade for countries and their economies but can’t use tariffs.

Personally I think that makes perfect sense. It’s for emergencies where you may need to stop trading with another country quickly for various reasons like regime changes or safety of people. It was not suppose to be used to try to negotiate trade deals. He is just so dense and vain he probably seriously believes anything he wants to do is a legit emergency.
