They only serve them to their elite clientele. You were not supposed to see that, that waffle fry was not meant for you. I’m sorry for what comes next, but it must be done.

probably was made on the same line at the factory and they didn’t clean it off well enough when they switch from waffle to straight cut

lol this is the definition of ghost kitchen which became very very popular due to COVID. By me in the northeast tri-state area, there’s many food providers (even name brand franchises) that are operating out of the same kitchen.

Proves most of the stuff you eat out nowadays is just from a freezer. Frozen bag of potato wedges has one waffle fry from previous packed items.

Sysco is a Latin word for enshittification. Several years ago, I lived within walking distance of a small mom and pop hamburger joint that actually made their fries by hand. They were absolutely divine. Think boardwalk fries, but better.
Mom and pop retire, sell to new guy, he keeps the same name and everything and promises nothing will change. Short time later, they apologize for running out of a few things and changing up the menu because they’re “switching suppliers.” Came in and saw Sysco boxes in the back. Prices went up, quality went way down.

Either frozen from the same supplier or they are also a ghost kitchen for a restaurant that does sell waffle fries.

Probably came from the factory. I’ve visited a potato factory as part of my job and they do all different types in the same machines just at different times. Nothing to be worried about.

It’s on top of the seasoning, with little seasoning on its own surface. Was this the position of the waffle fry when you first opened the container? If so then it was placed there deliberately by the restaurant *after* they had applied seasoning to the rest of the fries.
