      You’re not a brain piloting a skeleton with meat armor.

      You are a subroutine that has partial control over piloting a meat-mech with calcium-based structural skeleton, while the remaining 70% of the brain runs background subroutines that largely influence your behaviour, the entire chemistry of said mech, and kinda make decisions before you do, while distorting and filtering every stimulus that reaches the sensors, as well as adding artificial delay to some of them, so it seems like they are processed at the same time.

      You are not a brain. You are just a part of it, and not even a very important one. A lobotomy or a stroke could KILL YOUR SENTIENCE, and your brain could still move the body, access memories, talk and do stuff, while what you consider you is forever dead.

      We aren’t even a brain. We are a cognitive electrical pulse inside a capacitor with a power pack inside bone armour, inside a muscle mobility structure, inside a tight fitting bag of skin.

      The body is literally an engine that turns chemical energy into kinetic energy, to create very the tiny amounts of electricity that is us. A sentient, conscious, millivolt.

      I see this take on Reddit quite often, but it simply isn’t accurate. We are not just our brains. A brain cannot be sustained outside of its body. Our personalities are enormously affected by the health of all of our vital organs. If you’ve ever known someone who loses a limb or one of their senses is permanently hindered, it affects their whole person.

      This would be like saying that a processed and storage drive are a computer, when they are absolutely required, but they cannot function on their own.
