    1. I mean it doesn’t help when some of y’all mfs keep giving em a “pass” cause it’s funny to you

    2. On another note, If anyone in northern Illinois wants to get down with some Larping I’m game. (Never done it before)

    3. I’ll never get it!

As a person I’m not allowed to say some terms because they would be slurs coming from me and injustice don’t say them. I’m cool with respecting others.

Appreciate the SOME in the title. Not all of us are dying to say it and find it offensive when others say it

    5. Man, never in my life have I desired to say that word.

Not in private, not in public, and not even when i was a youngster who had friends who thought it was cool/edgy to make racist jokes. Those friends didnt last long.

All my life that word has been both forbidden, but also a straight ticket to an ass whooping.

A good friend of mine is jewish (and a d1 wrestler) and he described the k-word (rhymes with kite) like this: “If i hear someone use that word in my presence its on sight”

Ive always regarded the n-word with the same gravity.

      Ymmv.

For reference i am basically white. Im half japanese half caucasian and basically treated as white for 99% of social situations.

As a white people, I’m gonna go with FOMO. 😂
Edit: guess there needs to be some clarification, I’m not justifying people saying it, just my opinion of why some do.
Also for further clarification, I am not one of those people.

    7. It’s so weird.

I’ve never felt a desire the use a slur against other ethnic groups or towards gays etc.

We can often tell who are the ones pretending to be black in this sub. Especially whenever it’s a political post.

    9. Many young kids, no matter what race, listen to rap and hip hop, the athletes they look up to. Now look what those rap lyrics consist of and how those athletes talk. It’s the N word every other sentence. Kids grow up thinking it’s “cool” or they look “hard” saying it.

    10. I think it’s a few different reasons, to be honest. Like, I’m a 30 year old white guy who grew up in a pretty poor area of a suburb in the lower plains. When I was around 13-15, saying the n word was the Cool Thing to do. I think that was true with the n word moreso than other slurs because you either:

      1. thought of it as particularly taboo and politically incorrect and found that thrilling (this group would use all manner of slurs, because it’s “funny” to be offensive and upsetting because that shows that you’re Mentally Superior)

      2. believed that black culture was cool and wanted to, in a twisted way, be “equal” to black people and ingratiate yourself into black culture in a superficial way

      3. believed (wrongly) that that word had lost its meaning as a slur when used by non-black people and, viewing it from a non-black perspective, would see black people using it casually in conversation or to refer to someone, and because you yourself weren’t Racist™️, that meant you could use it

Me and my friends were firmly in the third category. We were all very stupid (not just regarding this) white and Latino and Asian kids who thought, well, we don’t MEAN it as a slur, so why is it bad? It took some time for all of us to be like oh, no, wait, words have meanings but those meanings have *context*, and there’s pretty much no context in which a non-black person can use that word without it being a slur.

But with the question of “why would you want to larp as a black person”, I think more often than not it just comes down to jealousy. White people are jealous of black people. Culturally, on a very base level, it’s all jealousy. I myself, when I was younger, experienced jealousy over black culture in a very active way. I don’t think a lot of white people actually realize that’s what it is. Of course plenty of white people are just plain hateful dickwads lol

    11. I’m white. My sister is black.

I do not, and never would, say that word. I don’t want to.

Honestly, I would feel duty bound to throw hands if a white mouth said that in my presence.

    12. Just a white guy’s opinion here. The N word adds a level of spice to most sentences. “N what??” just hits harder than “listen here, pal.”

Really makes no sense. I grew up in a black household that didnt use it really, not for any particular reason, but for that reason I personally don’t use the word. So it’s alway been really confusing why white people, Mexicans and Polynesians wanna use it so badly
