okay I need everyone to learn something very very quickly:
when the right talks about pedophilia, they do NOT mean sexual attraction to minors or CSA. they don’t mean that. that is not the definition of the word they are using. when they talk about grooming, they are not talking about an adult manipulating a minor into a sexual relationship.
when the right says “pedophile”, they very explicitly are talking about people who are trans/queer/leftist/otherwise not right wingers. that is what they mean. they think the act of kids knowing that trans people exist, or letting kids be trans or queer, is pedophilia. they are using the word grooming to mean teaching kids about equality and history and science.
**they are doing this on purpose. this is a long running operation, coordinated by their talking heads on social media and traditional media, to get people on their side**. they KNOW they’re not using the actual definitions. they are fully aware of that and it’s on purpose. they do this as part of their flooding the zone technique: if you keep saying over and over that you hate pedophiles, people will assume that you mean the actual definition, but then you can say “look at all the support we have for banning drag and pride festivals!”.
they’re doing this right now, as we speak, with the voter id issue. when they say they don’t want “non citizens” voting, they mean dissenters and people of color and women who vote without a husband. **they know words mean things and that they’re using the wrong definition**. I am BEGGING everyone to realize this and view their words and actions through this lens. they are being deceptive on purpose.
