I used to get mad at my dad because he wouldn’t let me spend the night at my school friends houses. Now I thank him for that

Unless people were being invited to sleepovers at resorts, I’m not convinced there’s a good Venn diagram to be built there. People of all kinds just be freaky. It’s the wealthy and privileged who get away with out-and-out trafficking, not the 90s Avon mom who’s just glad you can entertain her kid for a night.

It must be exhausting to treat everyone in your life as a potential predator. Nobody I know was human trafficked to a billionaire’s rape island at a sleepover. We made a lot of great memories with friends though.

    3. When my grandmother found out what was happening to my mother, her response was to decide obviously my mother had done something to welcome it and had been a slut.

My mother made me well aware of how people sexualize black kids. Her main concern and reason for no sleepovers was not simply that something would happen, but that it would be framed like it was my idea in the first place.

Mate I don’t know if tarring all non-poc folks with the nonce brush is particularly helpful or fair. Most of us are equally as disgusted and outraged with these headlines

    5. This whole thing feels very stranger danger coded. Were y’all’s friends’ parents billionaires?

    6. Not trying to be funny but racism did help us in the Epstein matter. They didn’t want Black children according to the emails.

The (US) American fear of everyone outside the house being predators has to be somewhat unique.

Especially as we know it’s more often than not someone in the house.

    8. I don’t really see how the machinations of the rich and powerful have anything to do with a sleepover at your friend’s house whose dad is a plumber and mom is a school nurse

    9. I feel bad for the kids who were never allowed to do sleepovers. Those are some of my best childhood memories. What’s dangerous is sending you child without vetting the location and caregiver, not the sleepover itself.

Rule of thumb: Don’t let your kid sleep over at a billionaire adult’s home. Keep it to their classmates and parents you know.

Do you people even read the files? Epstein wasn’t kidnapping kids from sleepovers, he was running an entire operation in FL where he enticed lower class girls after school to come “learn massaging techniques”. This is dumb, and not how any child sex trafficking operation works.

    11. You’ve ever been invited to a sleepover by a billionaire?? Not all sleepovers are a den of debauchery.

    12. Idk about this one. I’m black, grew up in a black neighborhood, and in a city that was +50% black all the way through to my highschool years. And I absolutely spent the night at some of my homeboys houses and they at mine. These weren’t randos of course, and my mom knew them and their parents situation.

But in the 90s/2000s black kids in elementary and middle school definitely had sleep overs lol

This is a very sad way to go about life though. Might as well never leave the house. Definitely don’t ever get in a vehicle because it’s statistically the least safe thing we all commonly do. Buy one of those bubbles and live in it.

    14. This is such a stretch. I had plenty of sleepovers with friends of all ethnicities. Shit was hilarious, fun, and we got into shit that we shouldn’t have. Super glad that I had those times and still have those connections.

Now about thee school picture business tho 👀

This is a weird connection to try to make, I mean minorities actually seemed pretty safe from these billionaires according to the emails.

    16. Cause Latina mothers knew there were pedos in the family but refused to cut them out cause they were “family”

    17. Creative-Ad-1363 on

That statement is a false equivalency. Epsteins was a global crime syndicat involving private jets, islands, and elite clientèle.

    18. Girl please the same black moms that were pimping out their daughters to r kelly?? Making the Epstein files a race thing is crazy lmao and there were plenty of black and latino people in those files.
