Remember that GOP voters in Alabama rejected Roy Moore, too.

It feels like a different century now

    2. This lives rent free in my head – when new shit comes up in the news I still think about him being forced out because of this.

    3. You’re missing the point, Democrats can do no right, Republicans can do no wrong. It’s mandated by God and Isreal.

    4. Surprisingly enough, it was his own party that forced him to resign.

You won’t see anything like that with this current administration.

    5. This was still pretty bad. I wouldn’t label it as “all it took”. It’s a better case at how democrats hold their own accountable.

It’s ok because now you can grab them by the…  They let you anything if you are famous

/s (if it’s not clear enough)

    7. Even at the time this happened, if someone in the GOP was found in the same situation it wouldn’t likely have resulted in resignation. The Dems did this to set a standard that the Republicans were already failing to rise to. And it’s only gotten worse since.

    8. In all fairness, there were 7 other women who reported him for misconduct several of whom were Democrats with no political reasons to wrongfully accuse him. Plus the context was that the Dems were grilling Brett Kavanaugh for alleged sexual assault (I believe the woman who accused him) and John Conyers had also just been accused of sexual harassment and the Dems wanted to make sure they were being consistent.

Franken made the right decision when he resigned and he did not have to resign. He could have been defiant and stayed. He made the right choice for the party.

    9. “LOOK AT THE MISCONDUCT!!”

Trump when he talks about grabbing women (possibly childred) by their vaginas.

“WHOA THIS IS LOCKER ROOM TALK, EVERYONE DOES IT!” I played football and basketball and we never once talked about sexually assaulting girls

    10. No lie, Franken was one of the best senators we’ve had in recent memory. It’s a shame what’s happened to our government.

If it was today, and that was the Republican president, they would promote him to “Super President” after that photo.

    12. Kirsten Gillibrand weaponized the MeToo movement to take out a political rival. Franken was a threat to her own presidential ambitions. She hasn’t done shit since her president run crashed and burned. She is the epitome of a status quo, pro wall street, Shit head neo liberal. And she will be there until 2030 at least…

It wasn’t just that photo, and we don’t deserve someone who would do this speaking for us.
