The Shrine of the Three Kings is a large gilded sarcophagus, decorated with filigree, enamel, and over 1,000 jewels and beads, and located at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Built from 1180 to 1225 CE, it is traditionally believed to contain the bones of the Biblical Magi [2200×2999]

At the front of the shrine, a removable filigree panel reveals a grille displaying the names of Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar. When the grille is removed, the skulls of the three Magi are shown wearing crowns.

So this is the final resting place of Caspers ghost.
Magnificent, just like the cathedral!
I think Jesus would like this.
“Bury me in gold” he always used to say!
This Gives you a pretty good idea of what Saint Thomas Beckets tomb in Canterbury cathedral looked like. It was Built around the same time… and Highly blinged Tf out.
I’m surprised the Nazis didn’t make that disappear.
Wait, in the bottom of the picture, I see ancient Roman and Greek polytheistic gods/ rulers side profiles on small agate pieces stuck like jewels on the gold walls. So we’re they reusing ancient artefacts without knowing their significance or were they zealous Abrahamists doing it to spite pagans ?
