We all know the food is going to be edible but cleanup will take three business days.

Mom: Cooks a Thanksgiving feast using one spoon and a pot.
Dad: Uses every utensil in the zip code to make a grilled cheese

probably because dad would only cook fancy meals and when they do they go all out with the unhealthy ingredients like they do in restaurants, and when mom cooks she makes the meals as healthy as possible which makes you think it doesn’t taste as good.

My mother and father both cook about the same amount because they’re both grown adults and one is generally home before the other thanks to shifts.
I’d say dad is a slightly better cook over all, but he has an annoying habit of not timing things so that they’ll be ready at the same time. The potato’s will be starting to get cold by the time the main dish is ready.

Dad probably has to go out and buy things though 😂 while mom can invent recipes from the fridge

My experience is a bit different.
Mom: *hasn’t cooked for anyone but herself in 30 years. Gets mad if you eat her leftovers, but also gets mad if you let them go bad in the refrigerator. I haven’t yet found an agreeable solution.*
Dad: *makes really good chilli, casseroles, and anything on the grill. He only cooks like oncea week, though.*
Me: *been cooking my own meals since I was around 10 or 11, including feeding my little brother breakfast and dinner the whole time he was in school*
Brother: *never learned to cook anything that doesn’t have microwave instructions on the back. If I didn’t make something, he’d just eat cereal for almost every meal*

Funny thing but in my agegroup in Sweden women are far less likely to know how to cook. It’s way more common for us dads to cook and especially when we are expecting visitors. I know it’s not entirely 50/50 in all marriages bit it seems men my age saw an opurtunity and took over cooking.

Not always the case, my wife has a natural talent for cooking that I just don’t have. Instead I use all my energy at mastering a single skill, grilling. And I have a feeling she lets me win only so she won’t have to grill.

In this scenario, ‘Confidence’ usually ends with a pizza delivery, while ‘Experience’ just sighs and starts cleaning the stovetop.
