Sometimes you find old headphones and cry.

    1. Still have a headphone jack on my Android, along with most of the equipment at work (I work at a radio station). Sometimes, the old ways are still the best

The normal mobile headphone port never sounded good for me so i always ran an external dac, and now Airpods and other alternative have got really good that i rarely use a DAC with my phone, so i rarely miss it

They took the headphone jack to sell us the solution to a problem they created. RIP to a legend.

I sometimes wonder – was tech competition in the early 2000s-2010s really all about convenience, reliability and winning the customer? Like for real, competition breeds innovation and cost savings passed on to the consumer?

Was the plan always to pull the rug put and enshittify everything, or did business lose enough good people over time and this is the result?

    5. You can always use an adaptor or type c headphones. Wireless earbuds are just way too convenient for me to ever want wired ones.

    6. I have a Sony Xperia 1 V mainly for the reason it still has one. I don’t want shitty bluetooth sound.

After my third pair of Bluetooth earbuds died I decided no more, got some good cheap IEMs and a usb-c dac and haven’t looked back.

    8. Just switched back to wired earbuds. I have to use the dumb dongle adapter or whatever it’s called, but it’s better than having to charge earbuds. And it’s better quality audio as far as I can tell.

    9. Once I went wireless I never ever wanted to go back to wired.

But I also tend to be active when listening to music. I have a few core memories of the 90s and early 2000s of getting my wires snagged in equipment and caught on my shirt buttons.

I agree with the people that more options are always good. But I hate them wires with a passion.

    10. I keep a pair of plugin headphones in my gym bag in case my wireless ones are dead, have for years. I haven’t had to use them for a couple years until a couple weeks ago. I dug around in my bag, pulled out my plugins, go to my phone and realize I had gotten a new phone recently and it no longer had a jack. I didn’t even realize it. I was so pissed I just put all my shit back in the bag and fucking left.
