I wonder if it was done by a previous resident of that room. Are all the dorm rooms like that, or just yours?

On a Canadian warship I was on they were using blue garbage bags stuffed into the light fixtures to get blue lighting in the ops room

If you are going to do that, at least take the bulb down, its not hard, just spin it, and tape around the glass only – preferably rotating *around he glass.* Away from the electrical connections on the ends. Then pop it back int here.

This half assed, taped the long way job is not doing it for me.

But at the same time, don’t do this

We had big drop down lights in my dorm and we used colored paper to turn the whole place red. It actually worked really well and we left it like that year round.

I am quite sure, that this was done for painting the room and nobody bothered to take it down. This is a fire hazard, remove the tape.

Just buy full CTO gel filters from Rosco or Lee. That’s what we use in the film industry if we want to change colour temp.

    7. Probably a fire hazard. Thats bs btw im sure your tuition rates have gone up and they cant even upgrade those ugly lab fluorescent lights to a warmer color. Shame

    8. I read that as dom and thought “good for you! Be proud of your kink!”

Then I realized it was the shortened form of dormitory… “Oh, nifty idea…”

    9. our dorm’s lights are white and BRIGHT as fuck. even the study table’s tube light. we just ended up tapping all over it ourselves to make it warm. much better now.

    10. I really first thought I read that your dorm uses tape worms as lights. Glad my double take was so off.

We also hated those bright white lights, so we’d hang Christmas lights all over and use those instead. And not the led ones now, these were the ones that world burn your fingers. Plug about 6 of those strings into an extension cord plugged into a strip plugged into the singular outlet of the building built in the 40s. I’m sure it was perfectly fine.

Plus, free extra heat in the winter, would bring the room temp up by a good 10 degrees.
