I actually got to drive one of those old tractors when visiting a friend who owns some land, and it was hot and loud. The heat coming off the exhaust pipe was unbelievable. I don’t know how they did it hour after hour, day after day. (Better than doing it by hand, like the people on the left, I guess.) Right after driving it, I climbed into a modern John Deere enclosed tractor, and it was wonderful. Nice, cool, and quiet.
