ok so context: I just started running 3 days ago for the first time in forever
I thought I'd hate it but then I discovered this thing where you can claim actual territory in your neighborhood by running loops and capturing zones, and it's lowkey addictive??
like my first run 3 days ago I was just testing it out and captured this little area near my apartment (Sagrada De Familia). Today was my second run and I decided to do a loop around the lake to expand my territory and honestly it felt so satisfying watching the zones light up as mine
the wild part is I went from being someone who would never willingly wake up early to actually looking forward to my next run, and it's only been 3-4 days?? like if I don't run my captured areas actually shrink or other people can steal them (not sure how it works yet), which sounds dumb but my brain is way more motivated by that than any fitness goal I've ever set idk if this momentum will last but right now I'm kinda hyped about run number 3 tomorrow and that feels insane to say as someone who just started running this week
P.S many people asked for the app name, it is motera, just on IOS as i know

Damn, that actually does sound like a fun app
what’s that on the image? A map?
A Taco Bell next to Gaudi’s unfinished wonder….what a funny world it is…
What’s the name of the app?
:0 whats it called??
Little area and then casually mentions the Sagrada Familia. Well played.
I wish I had so much place to run!
Very cool. And that’s a large apartment you have yourself, congratulations!
nice advertisement
I’m really tired of these ads
Zombies Run had this effect on me many years ago. Crazy how turning stuff in to a game works on motivation.
I would be working quite hard to capture an army base
Damn visually looks so cool, def need to check it out
LOLLLL should be marked sponsored, this post
Even without playing to capture a territory, it really helps to use an app.
I use the DecathCoach app (in France, I don’t know if it’s available elsewhere) and it gives me a map of the route I ran, statistics, and encouragement. I can choose a program with goals and I get an animation with confetti when I complete it!
It’s much easier to motivate myself with an app that reminds me to go than on my own.
