The Khufu ship is a 4500-year-old intact full-size solar barque from ancient Egypt that was sealed into a pit at the foot of the Great Pyramid of pharaoh Khufu in the Giza pyramid complex. The ship is 43.4 m long and 5.9 m wide and was identified as the world’s oldest intact ship [3000×2041]

    1. The ship, one of two that were found that belong to King Khufu, is now housed at the Grand Egyptian Museum. The other boat is currently being assembled in public view at the same museum.

      Wow that’s amazing, I’ve seen a lot of the ancient Egyptian boat models that are very small but it’s so cool seeing a life sized one

    3. Her timbers are all stitched together- absolutely ingenious design, and it probably was actually used in water, she’s not just an ornament. She was even recovered with her rigging rope. Absolutely fascinating story. Excellent submission, OP.
