Ha, I see you survived the same lunacy that qualified as “child rearing” from my past. What doesn’t cheese grate or concuss them into oblivion surely must make them stronger

That’s bad ass! I’d found a way to make a pool at the bottom! It reminds of this place that was located in California, on Interstate 15 between Las Vegas and Southern California in the 1970’s. I think it was a “Hot Springs” or natural-type water/recreation area. A big precursor to Wet-n-Wild Water parks. I never got to go and only drove past it with my face pressed to the window, wishing i could go there so bad!
But did anyone jump off that thing? I’d be pissed if someone messed up that sweet slide!

At Forrest Hill School in Auckland New Zealand in the mid/late 70s they had a Flying Fox (aka as a Zipline) in the schoolyard. It was high, fast and scary. At least one kid broke their arm every couple of weeks falling off it. There always seemed to be at least one person in class with their arm in a cast. A couple of Mum’s petitioned to have it removed but the head teacher argued ‘the kids like it and it is character building’. We used to queue up for 2 to 3 minutes just to use it because it was so popular. It was still there in 79 when I finished at the school.

Looks like my youth. At least it had shade. Though I think that was luck not planning.
Where was it? Kinda looks VIC.

Metal slides in Australia are basically frying pans half the time with the heat sometimes
