This took way to long to get to the punch line, like the whole joke could have been two sentences and he is just adding on stuff and making up names and characters that don’t even matter to the joke. Also he is repesting himself so much, like he is says; he says. Maybe 20 times in this story. It’s like he never ever told a joke in his life or something. Maybe he thinks it’s funny and the guy next to him seems to think its funny but no! It’s just frustrsting he won’t come to the conclusion of the joke. You see it coming from a mile away also, like you know it’s going to be a stupid thing like we ate the leg.. and just waiting, riding out the complete story with anger and hate building towards the man. I love Norm

    2. Norm seemed like the kinda guy you could just sit around with for hours talking shit about nothing and have the best time of your life.

    3. Oh Norm! The only one who can tell a 3 minute joke about heroism and a pork dinner. The best to ever do it!

I love long jokes where you know what the punch line is going to be but there’re enough mini repeat jokes throughout it that it is still entertaining. “Conflagration” was brilliant, as was “ploughing.”

    5. I grew up listening to Jerry Clower and he tells this exact joke on one of his albums from the 1980’s.

Edit: I think his punchline is “you don’t eat a hog that wonderful but one ham at a time”

    6. Norm had such a unique comedy style. Long story comedy is quite the rare art form but Norm always nailed it 🤣
