You know what we also can’t do? We can’t just shout an executive order that limits businesses due to the presidents rug pulls / whims. Doing so destroys trust. Pushes those businesses into plans to remove themselves from the United States as they already have or have planned to.
Maybe y’all should have thought about that finger snapping before thanos-snapping businesses out of America with no plan in place to “bring manufacturing to America”. Maybe having a single neuron of an idea in play first would have helped.

Like every time Trump talks about building an arch glorifying himself, there needs to be a wave of questions, stories, talking heads immediately pushing the, “And how does this help the working class? Who but the ultra rich would spend money on a tribute arch? Is Trump’s obsession with a massive arch compensation for having a penis that was once described as ‘a small mushroom’? How many rural farmers will the arch benefit?”
Flood the zone with opposition. It doesn’t have to be eloquent. It just can’t be a strongly worded letter.

A weaker US dollar is by design and a goal of Republican presidents. While there are always pros and cons to having a strong versus weak dollar, generally speaking a weaker dollar allows:
1. Better competitiveness when exporting goods but makes importing goods more expensive. I’d subsequently argue that Trump has done an absolute shit job of making USA goods competitive and desirable to foreign markets because of his tariff on again off again shenanigans. Made in the USA is a stamp to be avoided in foreign markets if at all possible.
2. Incentivizes companies with international reach to convert foreign currencies to USD since they’ll get more for it. Shareholders of large companies tend to gain money when the dollar weakens. This point is probably the main reason Trump wants to weaken the dollar so badly.
3. Could theoretically boost USA tourism because it’s cheaper for those aboard to come visit. But it does mean travel to other countries by those in the USA becomes more expensive. Since Jan 2025 he’s done a real bang-up job endearing foreigners to our country so overall tourism is way down from 2024. Reuters reports a 6% decrease in visits in 2025 compared to 2024.
