      The submarine was truly a combat vessel, having participated in wolf packs. She was sunk on February 25, 1944, in the Norwegian Sea northwest of Narvik, Norway, at coordinates 70.26N, 12.40E, by depth charges from a British Catalina aircraft (No. 210 Squadron RAF/M). Fifty-one people were killed (the entire crew).

    2. looks juvenile. aren’t they known to be larger than the largest bears in, say, North America?
