    1. Authoritarian figure promoting unconstitutional authoritarian ideals.

      What a sad life

Also, fuck women voting, apparently. We’re really turning the clocks back that far?

    2. I used to not like that the states and localities have this mess of systems and now it’s become one best way to fight an authoritarian take over of said system.

    3. I always wonder if our military service members realize when he talks about eliminating absentee ballots and mail in ballots, whether they understand that is how they vote. He is advocating disenfranchising them all… He is evil in every sense of the word.

But Republicans have been telling us for decades the only way to fix things is to privatize everything. Surely this couldnt be a way for them to try to control all elections going forward…

/s Jesus fucking christ guys. Can this shitshow end please?

I totally understand need for standards and proof of citizenship to vote. However, it is clear with republicans track record this year they want to shape the USA to a single party state or at least setup a permanent majority government.

It’s time to remove these corrupt government officials that are raking in billions off the American public.

Yeah, good luck with that. There isn’t even a remote possibility that Republicans would be able to change the election laws and relevant Constitutional amendments to take elections administration out of the hands of the states. And the reason he wants to do this is because he knows Republicans can’t win in the current system. So, he wants to obliterate democracy and effectively put the nation’s elections under his exclusive control.

    7. So, uh, how many times does someone have to propose blatantly and obviously unconstitutional and illegal actions before we decide he isn’t taking his oath to uphold the constitution very seriously? Can we just remove him already?

This would require a constitutional amendment to change Article 1. Which would require 2/3 of senators to agree, at a minimum. But SCOTUS being in the pocket, who knows.

I could see him just deploying ICE to polling stations in blue states/cities to try and intimidate people, disturbances that prevent people from voting, in the midterms.

You mean a career conman turning the White House into his personal royal palace what’s a rigged and complete takeover of elections?

We have a national (federal) election agency in Australia, and state equivalents for state elections. It’s a great system and it’s also absolutely independent, which really is key. Trump talking about elections being nationalised under the Republicans is the issue here because of stinks of a partisan arrangement. But if a single federal body was created to independently manage and run the elections as well as decide on electorate sizes and redistributions, the US could end up with an absolutely fantastic system. Then all you would need to do would be move your elections to a Saturday, like we do.

    11. Fuck this guy! He knows there is now way he and republicans can win legitimately. He needs to rig things to stay in power!!!

    12. Totally normal rhetoric for a sitting US president. Nothing strange here, back to the mines with you lot
