My logic is that the language is skewed because this activity was taking place all over the world. The age of consent varies from place to place… age of consent in the UK is 16 for example sooo whilst the age gap for example is crazy it’s not a technical crime for a 30+ year old to have sex with a 16 year old. In contrast I note that in America the age of consent seems to vary 18-21 I think so it could be that. I might be wrong but that’s my thinking when it comes to the weird wording around all this
