    1. I thought “charco broiled” was Hardees’ way of suggesting “charcoal broiling” without actually using charcoal, but it actually described their cooking process:

“Hardees charco-broiling used a unique cooking process with heated “char rocks” that allowed beef fat to drip down, creating a signature smoky, flame-broiled taste.”

    2. Bob Lilly was a defensive lineman with the Cowboys when they lost Super Bowl 5 to the Baltimore Colts 16-13 in a game filled with offensive miscues.

When the game ended, Lilly threw his helmet underhanded 30 or so yards downfield. A sportswriter commented it was the best pass anyone threw all day.

Lilly got revenge the next season when Dallas beat the Miami Dolphins in Super bowl 6. Lilly sacked Dolphins QB Bob Grieae for a 29-yard loss in that game, which was about the same distance as his helmet toss the year before. (There was no fumble on that play. Grieae just kept scrambling backwards and Lilly finally caught him.)

Both Bob Lilly and Dan Reeves (TE for Dallas, future NFL head coach) are in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame

      .

    3. Never forgive them for buying Roy Rogers and nearly putting them out of business. Now they’re opening new stores and going gangbusters, while Hardees keeps shuttering underperforming shops. Would be supremely ironic if RR bought out Hardees and converted them.
