Have a friend with this on her thumbs. Her mother never noticed until she was an adult. They were apparently called Killer’s Thumbs or Serial-Killer-Thumbs at one point.
Didn’t know it could happen on other fingers :O

Brachydactyly is apparently super rare on digits besides the thumb! Very cool!

That’s cool, I’ve never seen it on another finger besides the thumb

I can’t stop trying to pronounce Brachydactyly! I think it’s my new favorite word. It’s actually pretty interesting op, and not in a bad way.

Were you born with it or are they literally toes? I played baseball with a guy who was born without thumbs I think, and they took his toes to replace them. Or maybe it was pointer fingers? It’s been about 20 years since then so I don’t remember all the details.
Point is he literally has toes for fingers

If you cut the pointy long ones I think they’d barely stand out. Unless you like that

Thanks to your post I learned what brachydactyly is and realised that I have it on my thumbs (according to Wikipedia, type D brachydactyly like 2% of the population) 😐

I wonder how that affects balance or movement — fascinating!
