My great grandparents came over via Elis Island from Sicily. Nana lived to be just shy of 100 but Grandpa Joe (Giuseppe) made it to 101. I actually have memories of him from my childhood. Nana passed before i was born, grandpa Joe in 89.

She looks SO nineteenth century.
Both you and I have met people born in the 1800s, I wonder if they ever met any born in the 1700s?
My great grandfather, and a WWI veteran I interviewed in high school, were both in 1899, so it unlikely. But I’m guessing there is a possibility your great grandfather was born in the 1880s/1890s.
