Ironically as Friedrich Ebert was himself a monarchist (albeit he wanted to keep the Kaiser’s grandson on the throne as a figurehead).

this post is too pro-spd actually. most spd members then were not even rhetorically revolutionary. not to mention that the “spartacist uprising” is a misnomer since the only 2 spartacists involved(you know who) didn’t actually control much and were a small minority in the revolutionary committee.
