I had one of those as a kid. It got to be 3 inches long growing like a candy cane down my tibia. My siblings liked to call me “three knees” because it looked like I had another kneecap below and to the side of my actual knee. Though it was first noticed when I was 9, they waited until I was 12 to take it off so that it moved far enough away from the growth plate. They were a little worried it might turn cancerous, so they did take it off, which I was glad because I hated looking like I had deformed leg.
