    1. Here are some things you can try:

      1) Only check Reddit through one device you don’t always have on you, i.e. PC.
      2) Set yourself a reasonable, achievable daily limit on Reddit; say, no more than an hour and a half.
      3) If the things go well, set yourself one day of the week where you get full permission to browse Reddit to your heart’s desire – and cut it down for the rest of the week.

    2. The Hulk is crying, because he is as powerless in front of an endless line, like everyone else. It’s not just us who are burning Reddit, it’s Reddit that’s burning our life.

If you’re like me, you’ve just become more distanced from other social media over the past year as this experience is usually more curated. The time is overall the same but skewed greatly to reddit

    4. you can always block it in hosts files of all your devices, if you need detoxification period

Not that being addicted to an app is good, but I will say it’s better to be addicted to a forum that requires lots of reading compared to Tiktok.

There’s some benefit to your brain at least

    7. Once I find a social media that doesn’t exist exclusively to spread racism I’ll start using it instead

Its either this or dumbscroll cringy as fuck “edits” or “reaction” accounts on youtube or instgram. Atleast here, i have some control of my brainrot.

Honestly the time I got banned from Reddit for like a week was a good reset for me.

    10. Relearn how to be bored!

It sucks at first but it’s like exercise. Be okay with not attacking your boredom the second it hits. Rock through it for a bit until you’re bored enough to come up with an odea of something else to do.

I grew up in the 90’s. One thing people forget is how *bored* I was, a LOT. Mom is on the computer so can’t use the phone. Nothing on TV. That game you wanted to play with your friends all weekend? All copies checked out at the rental store before you could get there on a Friday. Same damn 5 VHS tapes. All your friends go out but you missed the call so, nothing to do all day. Sitting at the mall wondering where the hell we can go to hang out and what the hell we would do when we got there.

I feel your struggle. I will put down my phone and pick it up as I am walking away. It’s scary.
