Context: in the new DLC for the game Pokemon Z-A, one of the legendaries you can capture is Volcanion, a pokemon from a previous generation. And how do you do that? The game brings you to a “basements with no lights on” where Volcanion can be summoned and fought. Of course that basement is really just a cubic empty room and the fight (against a legendary) has no special cutscene or music or peculiar gimmick. Rarely I saw this level of laziness in 25 years gaming development.

Damn, even The Sims gives you more than that for $30.

Didn’t Nintendo did something similar with the new Donkey Kong? $20 for a stage with nothing in it?

$30 for this? It seems the developers believe in our dedication so much that they decided to see if we would just buy a set of pixels assembled in the dark with our left foot.

Not sure why people are still giving their money to nintendo with the amount of shit they’ve been doing and churning out lately, especially when it comes to Pokémon

That’s honestly pathetic, could they not just reuse the Heatran location?

Quick reminder pal world has more love and care put into that than this single dlc, yet it’s Nintendo who want to have the monopoly on pocket monsters and wants to patent and sue anyone who tries to use it

Pokémon holding a monopoly on monster taming games (and gamefreaks over reliance on cheap temporary developers rather then long term developers) has made them not try to not innovate, as there is no popular competitors that would gain the market share if the games are bad.
There needs to be a game that competes with Pokémon so both innovate to best the other, instead of banishing a similar game for being a “Pokémon clone”.

Damn I stopped caring about newer Pokémon games after sun and moon and to see Shield/Scarlet look like they need more time to cook and now even a long awaited sequel to Pokémon X and Y this is what we’re getting?

It’s a reference to how you couldn’t get Volcanion legitimately in Gen 6, but people were able to hack the game to get it. When you talk to Mabel, she says that she found a hacked Pokeball containing it, referencing how people got Volcanion through non-legit means. And the black void is how it’s in a place that you’re not supposed to be able to access, but people did to get it back in Gen 6.

Why do people keep buying Pokémon???, it’s disgraceful seeing the games, they’re like PS2 games ffs

That’s one battle out of the entire DLC. I do agree with you that they should have done more, cause even in the context of the fight you’re fighting it in a basement because it’s pokeball had to be hacked since it was trapped so just give it a basement setting which there are plenty of in the game already.
But don’t judge the entire DLC off a single battle in a side mission

Nintendo knows they can half ass their games these days and people will eat the slop because It’s the super Mario company.

What’s going on now? $30 for one pokemon? That’s fucked by itself, but I feel like there’s more
Somehow I have a level 10 volcanion and I have no idea where it came from, but I’ve had it for like 10+ years. Just moved it between games

Pokemon legends is really fun mechanics, but the Arceus was better because you explored and the world was pretty big and the new capture mechanics was amazing. ZA is okay. Its like “hey pokemon are here only and a few on roofs… go explore this tiny capture zone that is the size of a courtyard. “
It took so much if the mystery out and exploration out.
Pokemon was always walking to a new city and fighting mew pokeon on the way. We lost something in that game. Scarltt and Violet were just awful.

Bro stop buying this shit. The reason they’re so lazy is cause it keeps selling well. You think they care if people complain as long as they keep eating the slop they push out?
Unless y’all start showing some restraint and stop buying everything with a fucking pikachu on it they’ll just keep making these games worse and worse.
