Soo, it's day 3 of my 50 day series of meditating daily and today was to be honest, a pretty good session

The way I am slowly making this a habit is that I meditate immediately after waking up – I know this might sound pretty untraditional advice but this decision of mine has a back story

So a little while back I needed to drink Chia seed water everyday as a habit for personal reasons and I was facing difficulty doing so, so my GF suggested to drink it immediately after I wake up while my brain is not making optimal decisions( scrolling Instagram ). As a experiment I tried it and was pretty consistent with it mainly because of 2 reasons

So I tried it with meditation and believe me, it's the easiest thing to do, you won't be fighting your brain to find the "time" to do it

Anyways, back to the progress – I definitely feel my thoughts raging as I start the session and sloly slow down as I progress more but here is a new take on mind wandering

Mind-wandering is not a sign of failure, it's a natural feature of how the mind works. The brain is designed to explore, plan, and imagine. Your job is not to stop this, but to notice when it happens and gently redirect.

My main measure of success while meditating is this:-

How quickly did you notice each distraction?

    •Day 1: Maybe after 30 seconds

    •Day 3: Maybe after 10 seconds

•Faster noticing = stronger metacognitive awareness

Setting an intention before starting out every session might be a good idea- like I set it before I sleep at night so that I don't have to force anything in morning to my groggy brain

For day 3 it was :-

Today, I'm training my awareness. Each time I notice my mind has wandered, that's a win

PS:- would love to know your thoughts and if anyone is following along please do share your experiences and what challenges you are facing so that we all can grow together !!

This is great way to do it. Longest stint of meditation for me was only possible because I did it either right as I woke up or just before bed.

Especially waking up first thing – I strongly believe the way you wake up sets you up for the day. So if you immediately scroll, you’re set up for addictive/repetitive behaviours, screen use etc.

But with meditation you set yourself up for a more maintained, grounded day.

Well done. I find it hard to get myself to meditate, but it’s my next goal for sure
