It’s not a veto-proof majority, which requires a two-thirds majority. I don’t know when it will come up for a vote in the Senate.

    2. Yeah doesn’t this  first  have to pass the senate and then Trump can still vetoe it unless a two thirds of both the senate and the house agree to override it?

This is a step in the right direction but it still requires approval by a Republican majority in the Senate followed by the signature of a conman.

120 billion for an aircraft carrier just to build, that’s before staff. We have 11 of them. That doesn’t include the staff, the aircraft and support vessels.

Every modern country in the world has some version of universal healthcare, professionals are still well paid. Israel has universal healthcare, Mexico, Canada, etc.. we are getting fucked.

    5. Only three years so they can block it again on Democrats term and blame Democrats. They’re so fucking predictable.

    6. This means nothing. The Senate probably won’t pass it and Trump can veto it. The Republicans let 17 vulnerable members of Congress put an ACA subsidy extension yes vote on the record before the midterms. I haven’t seen the names of the Republicans who voted yes, but I’m sure I could guess who a handful of them are.

    7. While I am happy, this also pisses me off, I had to endure 43 days without pay when they could’ve just done this the first fucking time.

Let’s be real, and cynical I suppose, but this is an attempt to do right by the people because these cowards have no intent to reign in the president. It’s literally them taking something from tens of millions of Americans, then handing it back in a transparent attempt to save face. I’m happy for the people this helps, but why don’t you clowns start drawing up the articles if you’re all there and voting on stuff that matters.

And during the midterms and the following election, the Republicans will run on how they saved healthcare

    10. Affordable health care is a human right. Not sure what other states are doing, but Massachusetts just allocated another 250 million into the Mass Health Connector (the state’s implementation of the ACA) to offset extended subsidies cuts. People complain about how high our state taxes are, but at least they are going to help those with the greatest need. It is going to take a generation to correct the harm MAGA is doing to our country.

The conservatives are finally turning coat, huh? They’re all going to start going along with liberal policy, speak out against the current admin and to quote Omar El Akkad:

“one day, everyone will have always been against this”

    12. Well, no shit. Whaddaya know. Now we see if it carries the rest of the way thru. I’m honestly not sure on this one. I can’t even guess anymore, lol. 🤦‍♂️😆

    13. This was probably the one issue that the trump regime was passing that could have flipped the MAGA base away from him, now they will continue to get their subsides and happily vote for the fuhrer again in a few years

    14. And all it took was putting American healthcare into disarray and chaos for more than a month

    15. Fix the messaging.

      Democrats did this.

“Democrats pass 3 years ACA extension with 17 additional votes”

      Don’t give credit to Republicans.
