To be fair, a not insignificant part of the reason why Alexander was able to conquer as much as he did was because his father laid a very strong foundation for him to work from.

He died at like 32-33 he didnt have time to consolidate lmao. Plus his kids were too young to take over immediately after him, and one if his generals had his family assassinated afterwards anyway. Noone actually knows how he wouldve ruled over a large empire in peacetime cause there never was peace in his honestly short reign
